Neighborhood Stabilization Program
The State of Florida has targeted the City of Palm Coast for federal grant funding through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. The City has been granted $ 2.6 million of federal funding to purchase and renovate targeted homes throughout the City that have been foreclosed and are bank-owned. Once rehabilitated, the homes will be made available for purchase or lease to individuals and families who meet income requirements.
For example, a family of four, with an annual income less than $67,750 or an individual earning less than $46,700 could qualify for assistance to purchase a home that has been rehabilitated. In addition, in order to qualify for this program, applicants must be credit worthy and undergo housing counseling.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development established the Neighborhood Stabilization Program to award funds to States, Counties and Cities based on the number of foreclosures and mortgage defaults in a community.
Interested Individuals/Families
The City of Palm Coast application period will open on October 19, 2009 for those individuals/families that wish to benefit from the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. Down payment assistance up to $30,000 will be available to qualified and credit-worthy individuals/families through this program to purchase an acquired and rehabilitated foreclosed home.

Applications can be submitted to Valerie Bradley at the Flagler County Administration Building beginning October 19, 2009.
